New Genifique Yeux Light-Pearl
Retail $68 0.67 FL. OZ
Well... needless to say I am super excited to be reviewing this product. It hasn't even launched on Lancome USA's homepage yet! I will have a full review soon. I am very excited about the new technology used for this product including the formula, applicator and multi-purpose usage. Stay tuned!!
Update:
Genifique Yeux Light-Pearl Eye-Illuminating Youth Activating Concentrate(yes, I know, what a name) is a brand new product from the massively popular Genifique line from Lancome Paris. Their focus and technology for the Genifique line is to work with the so- called "youth" proteins found in our skin's genes that diminish as we age.The formula works on the skin's surface to brighten and illuminate our eyes to look as they did when we were younger. Light-Pearl is a multi-purpose eye serum (NOT moisturizer) that can be utilized in several ways to achieve different results thanks to its patented Light-Pearl applicator that is used to reduce the appearance of bags and dark circles under the eye, diminish fine lines, and brighten the entire eye area with that lovely "youth"protein complex. The picture above shows the Light-Pearl applicator, which is highly flexible when using. The directions are as follows for your particular eye area concerns:
1. Apply the formula in circular movements under and above the entire eye area( you can take off excess product my gently moving the applicator against the neck of the bottle). Gently push the applicator pearl down to massage the delicate corners of the eye.
2. For dark circles and bags under the eye, move the pearl applicator outwards in small circular motion under the eye.
3 & 4 For fine lines and signs of fatigue, move the applicator up and down on the specific target area of concern.
This is a general summary of the directions found within the Lancome packaging. I am also including a picture of the visual instructions of these directions below:
I have currently been using Light-Pearl for three days for the targeted fine line treatment. I really like the idea of the applicator and feel like the sensation alone is soothing. It took me a little while to get the up-and-down movement just right, but after day two I felt like a pro. I noticed by the end of day two that there was a difference. My fine lines/dehydration lines seemed slightly less apparent, but I couldn't get over how much brighter that area of my eyes appeared. The product claims that you should see results within 7 days similar to the other Genifique products. I definitely am seeing some small results with the lines, but I am really hoping that this brightening effect is consistent, because I feel that having skin that glows can make anyone look much more youthful and alive than smoothing out some small lines; however, it's wonderful that it seems to target both concerns.
Here is a pic of me today with seemingly brighter eyes and skin ( I used the regular Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate on my face as well).
I will be doing another follow-up on this product to report whether there have been any other changes or improvements in the very near future. =)

Hi Rachel!
I actually ordered mine today, and can't wait to start using. I'm 31, so I think I may need a little more help than you do ; )
So, I notice you make it a point to differentiate it from being a moisturizer, and stress that it is a serum. I do have an eye cream that I am currently using. How do you advise me using both if that even something you suggest? I was thinking maybe I'll use the eye serum at night and then eye cream during day? Or....do you recommend layering them? Thanks so much for your help.
Mel
Hi! I am glad to see that someone else is having the pleasure of using this great new product. I would recommend layering the Light Pearl with your moisturizer for maximum benefits. You could use the Light Pearl at night, but you really benefit from the moisturizing ingredients in a traditional eye cream that is layered over the Light Pearl which is used to treat and illuminate. I hope this helps! Cheers =)
